Annie
Annie

Height:  16.1 hands

Annie is leased by the farm for use in lessons.  She is a wonderful horse with tons of show experience.  She is shown in the jumpers up to level 4 and is very fast in her turns.  She has won many ribbons.  She is calm on the flat and just about any level can ride her, but when you ask her to jump she loves to show you what she can do.  Nikki owns Annie and they will accomplish great goals. 

Bali

Color:  Grey
Height:  16.1 hands

Bali was purchased the spring of 2004 from another barn in our area.  He has learned to trust many people and has been a great addition to the lesson program.  Bali has a very bouncy trot that just floats and a canter that is very rocking horse.  He is very good a jumping and can jump up to 3’6”.  Bali has some energy and is willing to go if asked.

Ben #2 has his name because we already had a Ben at the stables when he came.  His show name is Benjamin and he has the most willing loving attitude of all the horses.  He is excellent at jumping and although he is very tall he is a baby sitter.  He has a wonderful canter and a beautiful eye to the fences.  Ben has gone to many shows and always get a ribbon. Ben also loves to trail ride.

Bugsy

Bugsy is leased by Tally Ho Farm for the use as a school horse while his owner is away at college.  Holly misses her baby very much and wants to make sure everyone feeds him lots of treats.  He like carrots and wheat thins!  Bugsy has a very bouncy trot and a round jump.  He loves to jump and will carry you over 3’6” jumps.

Cadbury
Cadbury

Born:  March 31, 1997
Breed: Cleveland Bay Horse
Color:  Chestnut
Height:  18.1 hands

Cadbury is the gentle giant of Tally Ho Farm.  He towers over all the horses and loves attention.  Presently Cadbury is being used in the jumper arena (he jumps 4’9”) and for Eventing, although he likes to go into the Hunter arena and show off, too.  He is used only for intermediate and advanced riders because of his size.

Cody

Height:  14.2 hands

Cody is half leased by Tally Ho Farm as a school horse.  He is owned by Madison who who has out grown him.  Cody is a wonderful addition to the lesson program teaching students to canter and jump small cross jumps.  He is just the right size for many of the small students.  Cody also likes to go on the trails.  Cody is sometimes scared of tall people, so if your dad helps you catch Cody, you better take a carrot.

Cory
Cory

Height:  15.3 hands

Extremely quiet for a thoroughbred, Cory is a dream to ride.  She loves her dressage work and will make any rider look like a professional.  She has a smooth, easy sitting trot and a soft canter.  Cory also trots small fences with beginner riders and bigger fences with experienced riders.  Cory loves the shows and is one of Mrs. Kim’s favorite trail horses.

Free To Dream

Height:  16 hands

Dream has a trot and canter that are as smooth as glass.  She is a challenge to ride because she is very slow to move off your leg until she sees the jump.  Then she is having fun and is willing to go.  She loves to jump and still does not see the need for flat work.  Dream will attend her first show this year.

Espirit
Espirit

Born:  2001
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color:  Dark Bay
Height:  15.1 hands

A trot that feels like you are floating on clouds and a canter to die for are just a few of the great experiences when you ride Espirit.  She is a young thoroughbred who is learning to be a show horse.  She is very quiet and willing to please.  Espirit shows great talent for jumping and definitely has a good mind to be a lesson horse.

Flash came to Tally Ho in 2007 at Christmas with a group of buddies.  He was a school horse at Fair Weather Farm in Charlotte Hall, Maryland.  With his years of experience he is excellent for the student learning flat work or just starting out in jumping.  He is extremely patient and willing; and has quickly become a favorite in the barn. 

Freedom
Freedom

Born:  April 15, 1992
Breed: Quarter Horse
Color:  Chocolate Palomino
Height:  16 hands

Freedom is a jumping machine.  With his knees to his chin, he wins at both the Hunter Shows and the Combined Training Shows.  Freedom has a wonderful sitting trot and a canter that any rider can learn to sit.  He trots the small jumps making him a great ride for the beginners or will jump 3’6” making him great for the advanced riders.

Hooter
Hooter

Born:  1987
Breed: Quarter Horse
Color:  Chestnut
Height:  16 hands

Hooter has been around for years.  He is a jumping machine and does well at every show he goes to, from the local shows to the “AA” shows.  He likes to show off.  His owner is off to college and has chosen to lease him to the barn for lessons.  He is also leased to another student, Chloe who looks after him and takes great care of him.  If you ride Hooter, he will take good care of you.

Image was born at Tally Ho Farm.  She is a younger sister to Cadbury and Star.  Although she is not a big as her siblings she shows the same talent for jumping.  She is still a bit more playful than they are and is ridden by the more advanced students.

Height:  15.1 hands

Jessica came to the barn to be saved.  She was very thin and needed some love.  She was at one time a school horse and the farrier who found her thought she would have a happy home at our farm.  Soon after she came to the barn we realized she was pregnant and we were blessed with a wonderful colt which we named Money. (Another learning experience for the students)  It has taken Jessica a long time to get on her feet, but she is doing very well as a lesson horse now and loves her new home.

Jenny

Color:  Chestnut
Height:  15.3 hands

Jenny also came to Tally Ho in 2007 at Christmas with a group of buddies.  She was a school horse at Fair Weather Farm in Charlotte Hall, Maryland.  Jenny is a little nervous about our big barn and all the activity.  She moves around a lot in the cross ties and wants to see everything going on in the barn.  Once Jenny gets to the arena she is much more in her element and knows what to do.  She has been to many local shows and wants to be part of our program.

Jody
Jody

Born:  February 5, 1990
Breed: Quarter Horse
Color:  Chestnut
Height:  16.1 hands

Jody is a big “puppy dog”.  He loves to get attention and will rest his head in your lap all day long.  Jody also loves to be groomed.  He goes to the local and “A” shows winning most classes he is ridden in.  Recently Jody has competed in both beginner and Novice and is in good standing for year end awards.

Jupe

Breed: Thoroughbred
Color:  Bay
Height:  15.1 hands

When Jupe’s owner moved to Alaska, he was purchased as a school horse.  He is a little bit lazy, but loves to jump.  He has gone to the local schooling shows and was very good.  Jupe is also good on the trails.  He is a young horse with an old soul.  Jupe lives in the pasture with the older school horses and loves them all.

Lad

   Breed: Irish Draft
   Color:  Bay
   Height:  16.1 hands

Lad was purchased for a student at Tally Ho Farm and when he became injured was acquired by the farm.  After a year of rest and a surgery, he is back to work and a favorite in the barn.  Lad jumps with ease and is quick to show the students how to do lead changes.  He has begun attending shows again and is very glad to be ridden and loved.

Lena

Lena came to Tally Ho in 2007 at Christmas with a group of buddies.  She was a school horse at Fair Weather Farm in Charlotte Hall, Maryland.  She and Flash were the “school Masters” of their barn.  She is also patience and willing; with many years of show experience she will be an asset to our program.

Lesi
Lesi

Born:  1987
   Breed: Thoroughbred
   Color:  Grey
   Height:  16 hands

Lesi was a great show horse in her younger days, showing on the East coast in places like Madison Square Gardens.  She is still likes to go to shows and has a beautiful round jump.  Her canter is also very nice like a rocking horse.  She is a little particular about her rider’s leg position and does not like them to swing, as she thinks this means you want to go faster.  Lesi loves treats, but does not like a rubber curry used on her back while grooming.

Macho
Macho

Born:  1988
   Breed: Quarter Horse
   Color:  Chestnut
   Height:  15.1 hands

Macho, is one of Mrs. Kim’s favorites on the trails.  He loves to go out and has seen everything.  He is a great beginner horse, with a smooth gate and a calm personality.  He enjoys his work at the ground poles and is very good at jumping.  He has a round jump and more active canter which is a nice change from the lazy lesson horses.

Platinum

Platinum is the last of the group who came to Tally Ho in 2007 at Christmas from Fair Weather Farm.  She however was a project horse they had for the experienced riders.  She has been a pleasure to have in our barn and is continuing to learn.  She will be a nice ride for an experienced rider to learn about training and will attend her first show with Katie in May of 2008. 

Promise
Promise

Breed: Quarter Horse
Color:  Bay
Height:  15 hands

Promise is just like a sail boat.  She moves around the arena with ease and loves to show the students how to do everything.  Her special love is the jumping and she is happy to show the beginner student how to jump.  Promise loves to go to shows and usually does very well.  Give her a treat or a good groom and she is friends for life.

Rene

Color:  Chestnut
Height:  16 hands

Rene has been owned by several of Mrs. Kim’s students and when the last one sold, he was purchased as a school horse for the program.  He has a wonderful eye to the fence and will take care of his riders when jumping.  Because he is a favorite he is leased out to students often.  He  also enjoys the shows and has won many ribbons.

Riva
Riva

Born:  1999
Breed: Paint Quarter Horse
Color:  Tri – Colored
Height:  15.3 hands

Riva is owned by a Nikki and used as a school horse.  She has lovely flat work, but takes a more skilled rider to jump.  She has been to several shows and has great potential to be a nice hunter.  She is great on the trails and has beautiful group manners. 

Sadie
Sadie

Breed: Welsh Cross Pony
Color:  Bay
Height:  13.3 hands

Sadie is a very well trained dressage and quadrille pony.  She loves to jump and has a very round jump over the fences.  She is missing an eye due to an injury but has learned to get along very well without it.  Sadie is a challenge to students as she teaches them the proper way to use their legs.  Sadie does not like for students to pull on her face.  She will go to the middle of the ring and stop if they hurt her mouth.

Sixes
Sixes

Breed: Quarter Horse
Color:  Chestnut
Height:  15.3 hands

Sixes has been a lesson horse  for several years now, since Mrs. Kim purchased her from one of her students.  She loves to jump and is great for both the beginner and advanced students.  She will trot the cross rails and also sail over the 3’ jumps.    Sixes help to teach the students to use there legs when going around corners or she will cut the corners short.  She also makes them sit up tall or she gets going fast.   Sixes loves to go to shows and to trail ride.

Star

Born:  July 6, 2000
Breed: Cleveland Bay
Color:  Chestnut
Height:  17.3 hands

Star was born at Tally Ho Farm and is a giant horse.  She is a sister to Cadbury.  She shows incredible ability to jump and a natural eye to the jumps.  She is very willing to please and has leased to many students wanting to go to shows.  She started out winning in the hunter arena and has moved on to do very well in the jumper arena.  Star competes in jumpers up to Level 4.   She has become quite a “Star”.

Sugar
Sugar

Born:  1996
Breed: POA
Color:  Roan
Height:  12.3 hands

Sugar was GCHSA Year End Grand Champion Pony Hunter and Reserve Champion Low Hunter.  She loves to jump and has beautiful gates.  However, she does have a lot of energy.  She wants to be on the move and busy doing something all the time.  She has become a favorite horse for several of the work students.  I think Sugar would love to be a one owner pony.

Surprise
Surprise

Born:  August 5, 2001
Breed: Cleveland Bay Cross
Color:  Chestnut
Height:  14.3 hands

Surprise has grown too much to be a pony and is a small horse now.  She is a great lesson horse with miles and miles of patience.  She has already been to several shows and is getting lots of ribbons, including a Reserve Champion.  She almost always wins the hack class and has a beautiful jump.  Surprise has been used in lessons for both intermediate and more advanced students.  Easy to ride with great gaits she will be one of the student’s favorites.

Tango
Tango

Born:  1990
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color:  Bay
Height:  15.2 hands

ango is faster than any other horse at the barn and uses his speed to mop up in the jumper classes.  Tango has attended many “A” shows, placing 1st with as many as 70 people in the class.  He is very sensitive to the rides aids and make turns no other horse can make.  The question is “Are you good enough to stay with him?”

Tic Tac
Tic Tac

Breed: Welsh
Color:  Grey
Height:  12.3 hands

Tic Tac is just the right size for a cute beginner rider.  She tracks around the rail with a bouncy trot just like a ball of cotton.  She is smooth as glass when you want to canter.  Tic Tac loves to trot the jumps.  Tic Tac also loves to stand with her friends in the middle of the ring.  Well, every ride needs some challenge. 

Tank
Tank

Height:  16.2 hands

Tank was acquired as a school horse in 2008 with the need of a surgery to save his life.  He had a tumor in his foot and the surgery was experimental.  We are very lucky to have him and hope he will one day return to his previous job as a Children’s Jumper horse.
